King Philip's War

1675 CE – 1678 CE · 3 years

The bloodiest conflict per capita in American history. Wampanoag chief Metacom united several tribes against expanding English settlements. The war destroyed 12 colonial towns and killed 5% of New England's colonist population, while devastating Native populations even more severely.
