Spanish Conquest of the Aztec Empire

Cortés and a few hundred Spaniards, allied with thousands of indigenous enemies of the Aztecs, overthrew the Aztec Empire. The fall of Tenochtitlan after a 75-day siege was one of history's most dramatic conquests, enabled by indigenous alliances, European diseases, and technological advantages.
