Sheikh Said Rebellion

1925 CE

Kurdish uprising in southeastern Turkey led by Sheikh Said, sparked by the abolition of the Ottoman Caliphate and suppression of Kurdish cultural identity. The revolt was crushed within months and led to mass executions and martial law across Kurdish regions.
