Palmyrene Empire

Queen Zenobia of Palmyra carved out an empire spanning Syria, Egypt, and Anatolia during Rome's Crisis of the Third Century. Emperor Aurelian reconquered the breakaway state and paraded Zenobia through Rome in chains.
