Livonian War
1558 CE – 1583 CE · 25 years
Ivan the Terrible's attempt to conquer Livonia (modern Estonia and Latvia) for access to Baltic Sea trade drew in Sweden, Poland-Lithuania, and Denmark. Russia's ultimate defeat weakened the Tsardom and contributed to the Time of Troubles.
