Two decades of dynastic chaos after Khan Berdi Beg's assassination saw more than twenty khans rise and fall at Sarai, the warlord Mamai dominate the west, and Muscovy score its first open victory at Kulikovo before Tokhtamysh, backed by Timur, reunified the Horde in 1381.
