Oyo–Dahomey Wars

1726 CE – 1823 CE · 97 years

After Agaja's conquests of Allada (1724) and Whydah (1727), Oyo invaded Dahomey repeatedly from 1726–1740, forcing it into tributary status. Dahomey finally threw off the Oyo yoke under Ghezo in 1823 as the Oyo Empire collapsed.
