Moplah Revolt (Malabar Rebellion)

1921 CE

Violent uprising by Mappila Muslims in the Malabar region of British India (Kerala), fueled by the Khilafat Movement and longstanding resentment of Hindu landlords and British rule. The brutal suppression included the infamous Wagon Tragedy, where 67 prisoners suffocated in a sealed freight car.
