Fall of Kaabu

1867 CE

A Fulani army from Futa Jallon under Alfa Molo stormed the Mandinka capital of Kansala in May 1867, ending the Kaabu Empire that had dominated southern Senegambia. The victors founded the kingdom of Fuladu on its ruins.
