Sino-Vietnamese War

1979 CE

China invaded northern Vietnam with 200,000 troops to 'punish' Hanoi for overthrowing the Khmer Rouge. Despite capturing several border cities, the PLA suffered unexpectedly heavy casualties and withdrew after just one month, claiming to have achieved its objectives.
