Warsaw Pact Invasion of Czechoslovakia

1968 CE

Soviet-led Warsaw Pact forces invaded Czechoslovakia to crush Alexander Dubček's liberalizing 'Prague Spring' reforms. Half a million troops occupied the country overnight, ending hopes of 'socialism with a human face' for two decades.
