Nien Rebellion
1851 CE – 1868 CE · 17 years
A major peasant uprising in northern China concurrent with the Taiping Rebellion. The Nien's mobile cavalry warfare across the North China Plain threatened Beijing before Qing forces finally suppressed the movement.
