Queen Nzinga's Wars Against Portugal

1624 CE – 1656 CE · 32 years

Queen Nzinga resisted Portuguese slaving and conquest in Angola for three decades, allying with the Dutch after they captured Luanda in 1641. After Portugal recaptured Luanda in 1648 she continued operations until a peace treaty in 1656.
