Hukbalahap Rebellion

1946 CE – 1954 CE · 8 years

Communist-led peasant insurgency that evolved from the anti-Japanese Huk resistance of WWII. At its peak in 1950, the Huks were approaching Manila. The rebellion was defeated through a combination of military operations and land reform under President Magsaysay.
